FULL-LENGTH PLAYS

Yvette and the Wild Shame

A summerhouse. A ceremony. A war.

I began writing Yvette and the Wild Shame in Anthony Weigh's workshop at Columbia and continued pursuing the beast in Leslie Ayvazian and Ivan Anderson's writing group and in chats with my thesis mentor Liz Swados. The play was developed with the direction and dramaturgical prowess of Tasha Gordon-Solmon and blow-your-mind actors Matthew McDonald, Sean McIntyre, Becca L. McLarty, Michael Micalizzi, Adam Thomas Smith, Jen Taher, and Lindsay M. Torrey. Yvette and the Wild Shame was first performed as a part of Columbia's 2014 playwriting thesis showcase at The Pershing Square Signature Center in NYC. Please contact for sheet music and song and chant samples.

The House of Marianthi

A modern tragedy. An ancient ancestry.

Excerpts of The House of Marianthi first premiered under the title Colossus: An Epic of Inheritance at The Construction Company in NYC as part of my residency at Dragon’s Egg Studio. In the fall of 2012, Martha Clarke directed sections in workshop with dancers Adrian Silver and Ramona Kelly during Clarke's Mellon Visiting Artist residency at Columbia University. The play was further developed in the spring with actors Marco Formosa, Sean McIntyre, Michael Micalizzi, Jen Taher, and Lindsey M. Torrey, directed by Tasha Gordon-Solmon with sound design by Jay Spriggs, lighting design by Daisy Long, costume design by Lara de Brujin, and stage management by Jenny Ainsworth for Columbia MFA Playwrights’ Second Year Showcase.

American Agency

Not long ago, the muses of ancient Greece incorporated to form Nine Muses International: a high-powered company in the clouds that spreads "Inspiration, Nation to Nation."  This play is a sneak peak into the company's American Agency, as today's muses churn out one-liner inspirations for the twenty-something women of America.

American Agency was commissioned as a short play by The Eugene O'Neill Center Theatermakers program for their summer 2010 students. The short was performed as a staged reading in the O'Neill's historic Rose Barn Theater. Performances of this full-length version are listed below:

  • Dir. Megan Weaver, Nelson Fine Arts Center, Tempe, AZ
  • Dir. Josh Sobel, Mary Arrchie Theatre, Chicago, IL
  • Staged reading, Dir. Brandon Stock, The Flea Theater, NYC
  • Reading, Dir. Tasha Gordon-Solmon, Shetler Studios, NYC
